Dilcia, 29, lives in Huacora, a community of coffee producers in La Copia, Peru. She lives with her husband and three school-aged children. Dilcia comes from a humble farming family, who taught her the skills and the dedication that she now uses to grow coffee.
Currently, with the support of her husband, they have goals and dreams to reach. One of them is to increase the size of the land they work, which would allow them to generate more income to sustain their family and educate their three children, as another dream is to see them become professionals.
With the loan, Dilcia has to mulch and cultivate her fields each year, assuring a better production for the next season. She is a member of the group Norandino, which for five years has shown responsibility and gratitude to the Kiva lenders. She promises to make payments in the established time period.
