A loan helped to buy feed for chicken.

Sunisa's story

Sunisa has an organic chicken farm in her native northern Thailand. She is in her late 20's, looking after her 6 year-old child and husband at home. She is a member of the Akha tribe in Chiang Rai, Thailand, one of several different ethnic groups who make their homes across the mountain ranges of southern China, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, and Thailand. For her entire life, she has worked as a hired laborer in the mountains near her home. But because prices she is never guaranteed work, her income is very unpredictable, and is rarely enough to support her family. She has 700 egg laying hens to raise on farmland. Selling the eggs she gets every day can potentially more than triple the income she makes currently.
Her egg farm will give Sunisa and her family a monthly source of cash for their lives, which she plans to use to send her children to study and to clear the debt her family is in.

This loan is special because:

It supports vulnerable hill tribe communities in the northern region of Thailand.
