A loan helped a member to pay for ACE 1 clean cookstove.

St. Lawrence Group's story

Mantsane is a 55 year-old married mother of five children and three grandchildren. She lives in a one-bedroom house with five other family members. She is a teacher. She uses wood and paraffin for cooking and lighting. She also pays for mobile phone charging, as she has no electricity installed in her home.

Mantsane and eight other people from her village will benefit more from the ACE 1 cookstove, as it has an LED lamp, USB port phone charging system, and uses just small twigs and cow dung to make a fire. Mantsane will no longer have to walk long distances to collect wood, and buy candles and paraffin. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar powered.
