Maria Florentina's story

Maria , 38, is married and has four children: Jordan, 14, Anderson, 12, Maicol, 10, and Lenin, 8. They currently attend school and live in a relative's home. Her husband works as a day laborer. For 13 years Maria has been growing naranjilla (local fruit) which has been important as far as covering household necessities. She is known as a hard-worker, humble, and responsible in her work.

In her business she needs to buy seeds and fertilizers and pay workers to improve production. She hopes to have her own house one day to provide a roof for her children. She also aims to expand her business so that her family wants for nothing.
