Dulce Genesis Group's story

The Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Dulce Génesis”, formed by 8 determined ladies, is excited to begin their 1st loan cycle with Kiva. They are empowering themselves with the “Microcredit Plus” Program (education & loans) of Friendship Bridge. The educational trainings are a vital component for the success of these women as they acquire valuable business skills (planning, budgeting, accounting), learn to care for themselves & their families (nutrition, hygiene, health) better or learn about setting goals & realizing dreams.

Candelaria, a mother of 10 children who range in age from 2-18, is 38 years old with only 1 year of formal education. She understands the value of a good education & wants all of her children to complete their education successfully & become professionals. Almost all of the children are enrolled in schools. Candelaria sells firewood that is in high demand as the population needs it to cook their meals. She is requesting a loan to buy firewood at the wholesale level & wants to put some funds aside to buy chickens to fatten up & sell so that she can generate more income.

It would be impossible for Candelaria to walk into a bank to secure a loan. Kiva investors play an important role in her life. Thank you to each investor for helping these ladies out by funding their loans! You are much appreciated!!

In this group: Juana, Candelaria Francisca, Maria Del Rosario, Josefina, Evelyn Shiomara, Maria Ana, Lesbia Lucely, Justa Hermelinda
