Savitaben's story

Savitaben hails from the Dahod district of Gujarat. She is 41 and is a mother of two children (a son and a daughter) who go to school. Savitaben's is a family of five, which subsists on a monthly household income of Rs. 12,000. Out of this, Rs 6,000 goes towards taking care of household expenses.

Savitaben has an agribusiness. She grows wheat, khapas, arandi, rice and other such staples which are always in demand. She wants to expand her earning capacity by purchasing more seeds and farm supplies to grow these crops on a larger scale to cater to the growing demand. To this end, she seeks a loan of Rs. 20,000 from Prayas, Milaap's field partner in Gujarat.
