A loan helped to renovate her tools and to buy some raw materials and seeds to enhance her business.

Dalia's story

Daliah is a 24 year old, Lebanese, single woman who lives with her father and one sibling. After the death of her mother, she decided to cooperate with her father and take some responsibilities since he is getting old and he isn’t able to work daily.

She started her work in 2012 from her home when she opened a small room and equipped it with all the necessary tools to produce homemade food such as jams, pickles, oil, and olives. In parallel she cultivates all kinds of grains and cereals and sells them in the neighborhood.

Today, she is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to renovate her tools and also to buy some raw materials and seeds to enhance her business. She said that this loan will surely help her to improve her work and increase her income. She intends to borrow more loans in the future to help her family and support her father.

This loan is special because:

It empowers women in a country where most businesses are owned or run by men.
