Kapkatet Group's story

The person raising her hand in the photo is Sarah, a member of Kapkatet Group. She is 62 years old, and blessed with eight children. She joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in 2014 to benefit from the training on savings mobilization, enterprise development, financial management and value addition.

She does maize and bean farming. She is taking out a Kiva loan to lease more land and buy seed and fertilizer to increase her crop yield. Earning more income will provide for better health care, shelter and clothing for her family.

She is grateful to Kiva and its lenders for the support and she promises to repay the loan promptly.
