A loan helped a member to pay for the ACE 1 clean Cookstove.

Likhabane Group's story

Makoltsoe is a 24-year-old, married mother of three children, who lives in a two bed-roomed house with four other family members. She is unemployed. She uses wood, gas and paraffin for cooking and lighting respectively. She pays for mobile phone charging and she walks long distances for that.

Makolitsoe and eight other people from her village are going to benefit from the ACE 1 clean Cookstove, as it has the LED lamp and is solar powered and uses the readily available biomass. It also has a USB port mobile phone charging allowance. It uses small twigs and dry cow-dung to make fire. Makolitsoe will now not have to walk long distances to collect for fire and walk back and forth to charge phones and pay for that.
