Mom's Group's story

Mom is a simple mother living with five children in a small house located in Kampong Svay district of Kampong Thom province. She is 37 years old. Nowadays, she and her husband still earn a living through farming rice which has been the main source of their income for almost 18 years. Mom's husband is a hard-working person who always uses his spare time to catch fish and works as a paid worker to supplement their income.

Together, they can manage to save about 6.50 USD each day for emergency needs. This is the fourth loan for Mom, and she successfully paid back the past loans on time. Now, she is leading a group of two to apply for a new loan from VisionFund to construct a new latrine in order to provide her family a closed and clean private toilet to use.

In the future, Mom believes that this new latrine will provide her whole family a better living standard and prevent them from getting infectious disease.
