A loan helped to buy fertilizer and to pay someone to remove weeds from the land.

Norma Angelita's story

Norma is 31 years old and lives in Santa Rita, a small community close to the north coast of Ecuador.
She is a single mother of three children, the oldest is 14 years old, the next is 9 years old and her youngest daughter is 5 years old. All of them attend elementary or high school respectively.
She works growing naranjilla fruit and raising cows. Her crop of naranjilla represents her largest income. Due to this Norma does not have sufficient capital to invest in buying animals.
Norma has always been an entrepreneurial woman, despite the difficulty of agricultural work, she works hard on the land. Her oldest daughter is in charge of feeding their two cows on weekends and some afternoons.
She is about to plant a new crop of naranjilla and needs a loan to buy fertilizer and to pay someone to remove weeds from the land.
