Tammira's story

Raised in Baltimore City, I watched my mom and other moms dejected by not following their dreams of owning their own business because they had children. Growing up in West Baltimore the odds of being anything was against me. Every day I watched everyone around me do the same thing day in and day out while being miserable. I was determined to NOT be that person. I went to Coppin State University and received a degree in management and Strayer University where I received my MBA. Upon graduating undergraduate school, I birthed both my daughter and my first business. I felt that being a mom was the least of anyone’s worries when it came to actually following the dream of entrepreneurship. As I studied and grew my entrepreneurial skills further I realized that in Baltimore it was the lack of resources available for moms to stay motivated and learn balance. As a mom, wife, entrepreneur, doctorate candidate and professor I am determined!!! I always had dreams of being my own boss and moving to the beat of my own drum and that is exactly what I am doing. Through adversity I am determined to not live the status quo. Upon moving forward in my entrepreneur career I was immediately knocked down by the sudden death of my brother. I went through a time where I questioned my purpose and whether I could be successful. I thank God for mentors who quickly helped me get through a rough time and invested in me. I now wear many hats successfully. Each hat I wear has given me the inspiration to birth businesses that will help others be successful! Today I am excited to finally launch The Cube to help moms follow their entrepreneurial dreams. My journey through life wasn't easy but I refuse to allow it to dictate my future, I am determined to continue to build successful businesses that impact the future of our society!
