Mushegh's story

Mushegh sends his greetings and thanks for his first Kiva loan and hopes for a second one. He is 29 years old, and he lives with his father in the village Ddmashen of the Gegharkunik region.

Mushegh is busy with his farming activities. In his farm He has cows, bulls, pigs, sheep, and chickens. The sale of his farm produce is the only way of earning their living (milk, meat, and eggs). Land cultivation is also part of his everyday work on his farm. He cultivates potatoes, beans, and greens also for sale.

Potato cultivation is the most profitable part of his farming and Mushegh greatly wants to develop it. He sells his crop both from his farm to re-sellers and at the city’s wholesale market as well. Mushegh is asking for this loan of 700,000 Armenian drams to develop and enlarge his potato production.

This loan is special because:

It reaches rural populations with less access to opportunity.
