A mother with two dependent children, Chhay Leang is 52 years old. She has overcome her hardship living by farming rice at Tbaung Khmum province for 34 years. Her husband makes wardrobe to sell in order to supplement her income.
Her rice crop produced a very low yield this year, so it is the main challenge for her. She is able to save up to 10 USD each day for emergency needs.
For the first time, she decided to apply for a loan with VisionFund.
As a group leader of four members, Chhay Leang is going to spend the portion of loan to buy fertilizer and to pay for a plowing fee in order to increase her yield.
In the future, she hopes that her rice crop will produce a good yield and get her a better income than last year's.
