Aygul's story

Aygul, 55 years old, is married and has three children. Aygul's husband is a butcher but earnings from his job aren’t enough. The family's main source of income is farming. Aygul raises and sells seasonal vegetables such as pumpkins, cucumbers, potatoes, etc. She has been growing and selling them at a local bazaar for six years and has good experience in this area. Her monthly income is 150 AZN.

Vegetables are in high demand in Azerbaijan because people like to use them for fresh salads and delicious national dishes. They buy their vegetables locally because they know that vegetables raised in private gardens are always fresh and without pesticides.

Aygul needs money to cover her family’s demands. She has applied for a loan of 2,500 AZN in order to buy quality fertilizers and increase her harvest and income.
