Unidos Con Cristo 3 Group's story

Rafaela and her group, Unidos con Cristo (United with Christ), have decided to take out a small loan in hopes of improving their quality of life. All of the group members live and work in a rural sugarcane farming community called a batey. Their various businesses provide the local community with snacks, food, used clothes, and sweets. They operate these businesses to balance out the constantly fluctuating nature of their local economy.

Rafaela is well-known for her delicious fried foods! With her loan, Rafael will purchase large amounts of oil, flour, chicken, or salami to make savory fried treats on the weekends. One of her many specialties is fried plantains, called "tostones." Rafaela is a leader in her community and has strategically used her previous loans to grow her business and increase her profile in the community.

Thank you for your consideration of Rafaela and her group, Unidos con Cristo!
