Cristina's story

I grew up on Sumatra and Java islands in Indonesia as the youngest of four children. Growing up, my mother cooked and loved to bake, so I have a lot of fond memories around food.

I moved to the United States when I was eighteen to attend college. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a business degree. Following my graduation, I worked for over fifteen years in the high tech industry in the San Francisco Bay Area.

While tech had been my professional focus, I really couldn't resist the strong draw to the exploding food and wine scene that Northern California has to offer. I discovered I had a passion for artisanal and gourmet foods; it was then that I decided to leave my tech career to start my own food business.

As a business owner, I firmly believe it is important to be socially and environmentally responsible. I try to always keep this in mind. Bubble wraps, biodegradable packing peanuts, and other mailing and packaging materials are re-used & recycled materials donated by a local organic market that I do business with. They not only save my company a lot of money but greatly reduce waste as well.

Additionally, I support the on-going development of the up and coming Bayview neighborhood in SF by establishing my production there from the very beginning. A year later, I personally moved there from a different part of the City to be closer to work. I believe in the future of Bayview and I am proud to be here.
