Omar's story

Like many immigrants, I came to this country to look for a better life. In Mexico I was not able to complete my education, my grandmother couldn't afford it. So when I came to the U.S. I went to school and finished my GED (high school equivalent) and my ESL (English as a Second Language). My first job in this promising country was as an ice-cream and lollipops vendor. As I grew and expanded my knowledge, I felt the desire to help people in my community.

After 6 years, I started working for Alameda County Department of Public Works. As a technician, I loved my job but wanted to pursue other personal dreams.

My main passion is Business Administration that's the main reason why I went back to school in order to obtain a Bachelors Degree that could help me in the future.
