Nestor Marcelo's story

I am an immigrant from South America that has embraced American culture since I came to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student when I was 18. I have a lot to be thankful for because I grew up in Bolivia with parents and siblings living in harmony under the same roof. Both of my parents attended and graduated from college, as did me and my sister. My parents supported all of us with the best education they could afford.

Nowadays, I am pursuing a personal goal to succeed in a field that I love: travel and leisure. I aim to create my own job that I can say I enjoy and even employ others. In the past, I worked menial jobs that I never could have imagined myself doing if I had lived in my native country. I have realized that the best job you can perform is the one you are passionate about. I am in the process of creating the perfect job for me so in the future I can settle down with a family, manage my own schedule, and purchase a house.

In 2010, I decided to quit my job to move to another city and apply for a new job making less money because its schedule fit with my goal to study and be trained as a tour guide in Washington DC. I used to work delivering newspapers early mornings for very little money while in the day time I studied and attended classes to obtain my DC license. I used my own savings to cover budget gaps until I fulfilled this 1st goal. However it was not until I got my first big client 1 ½ years ago when I realized I was on the right path to success.
