A loan helped add more curios and jewelry for my shop.

Pamela Adhiambo's story

I grew up in up country (Siaya) in a family of 6 siblings. My parents were peasant farmers. They were able to educate us and I went up to secondary school but dropped out in Form 2 due to high school fees.

I came to Nairobi in 1988 after I got married. My Husband and I were blessed with 6 children but 2 passed away. In 1993, to help support my family, I started a food business but in 2005 my premises were demolished by the city council.

However I was not deterred. Shortly thereafter, I started my current business selling curios and detergents in Kibera. One day, my dream is to be a major supplier in Kenya for curios and detergents.
