Yi is a 38-year-old married rice farmer with three children in her care. She resides in the Prey Veng Province in Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice for over ten years. Her husband is a 48-year-old rice farmer, and one of her children is a farmer too, while her other two children attend school. Her family can earn approximately $29 per day.
Yi is pictured first from the right. As a group leader, she would like to request a loan for their six-member group and she will use her portion to purchase fertilizer and to pay for plowing expenses. This loan will help her have enough money to purchase fertilizer for rice cultivation, so she will be able to cultivate better rice crops to support the family.
In the future, she is going to open a grocery store at home, build a ground floor room, and support her two children to earn a higher education.
