Rosa is a dental student. She asks for a loan to be able to cover her educational expenses.
This is her story: My name is Rosa, I am 19 years old, I was born in Vega, where I still live. I live with my parents, my mother is a stylist and my father works in the Free Zone where they don't get the necessary income to pay for my education. I am a single mother and I have a daughter.
I am studying for a degree in dentistry at the Universidad Católica Tecnológica Del Cibao, UCATECI and currently I am in my first quarter. The courses which I have enjoyed the most are biology and math. I chose this degree because it will allow me to do social work and in addition to develop myself professionally.
If I don't manage to get this loan, I would have to seek part-time work to pay for my schooling, which would cause academic delays and I would not finish on schedule.
Among my academic goals are: To graduate with a good GPA, to make the most of all the knowledge, and put them into practice in the future.
My personal goals are: To enter the labor market, to position myself as one of the best dentists in our province, to be an inspiration for the young people in my community and to be an example for my daughter to follow.
