A loan helped buy primary materials, such as red earth, black earth, and clay for making bricks and shingles.

Leonarda's story

Leonarda, 67 years old, is married and has her own house. She lives in the municipality of Agua Fria, in Valle, in the south of Honduras. For the last 15 years she has been dedicated to her business of making and selling bricks and shingles. Her customers are neighbors and friends from the region.

Leonarda is a hard-working woman who desires to get ahead. She has been a client of this institution in the past and she is grateful to Prisma and Kiva for the help they have offered. It has been especially helpful, and for that reason, she is once again requesting their help to increase her production.

Leonarda is soliciting this loan to purchase primary materials, such as red earth, black earth, and clay, since she has sufficient orders for her products and, lacking these materials, she has not been able to meet customer demand. With the help of this loan, she will augment production, improving her business and her housing.

Leonarda's dream is to complete construction of her house and continue growing her business, and to have a better life, augmenting her income.
