Las Mercedes Group's story

Maria Isaias is 38 years old and married, with six children. She lives with her husband in a village in the area of Intibucá. She has worked growing potatoes for six years and before that she raised chickens and sold eggs.

Today this farming work is carried out in her own land and it helps her to improve her source of income. She has requested a loan from the institution as part of a group, in order to buy compost, potato seeds and fertilizers for cultivation.

Her goal is to keep farming to increase her sales and to see her family satisfied.

The group is called Las Mercedes and it's made up of three members, who live in the same area and work growing potatoes. The group loan is for 60,000 Lempiras to buy seeds, fertilizers and compost, in order to grow potatoes.
