A loan helped to increase her pineapple output and also to have a better product to sell and generate higher income for her daughter.

Arminda's story

Arminda lives in the town of Entre Rios. She is a single mother with one dependent daughter whom she cares for and sees to her development. After completing her secondary studies she left school because she had her daughter. That's why she started working in agriculture on a piece of property that her father sold her for a good price because she always works with him. She has been growing pineapples on the property and has one hectare under cultivation. She sells to businesses that sell seasonal produce and who go and buy it where it is harvested. This crop has been the source of her financial support and she manages it with the help of temporary workers.

She is a very hard working woman with a desire to get ahead. Her crop is now in its second harvest and, as a result, is producing less than the first harvest so she needs a loan in order to achieve her goals of increasing her pineapple output and thus bringing in a better income for her daughter.
