Janet B. is 54 years old. She is a married mother of six children. She says three children are working while three are still in school, in senior and junior high. Janet lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a fishing community called Aquase, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
Janet is a trader. She trades in fashion accessories such as unisex belts, ladies’ bags and other leather products. She buys the products directly from the producers in the regional capital. She says she treks to towns to sell and also hawks in her community.
Janet has been in business for eight years and wants a loan to procure more goods. She hopes to give her children the best education she can afford.
