Jesusa is from the department of Chuquisaca, but she currently lives in El Chapare province in the tropics of Cochabamba. She is married, and has 4 children. Her main economic activity is farming. She has her own plot of land where she mainly cultivates cassava. She has 1 hectare under cultivation, and another is now ready for harvest. She also cultivates foods such as rice, bananas, corn, and other crops for her own consumption. The family grows their own food with the help of Jesusa's husband in order to save on food expenses and generate a good income to get ahead in life and be good examples to their children.
Jesusa and her husband have good references from neighbors and friends who know them to be hardworking, responsible, and dedicated to their work. They are also known to manage their income and expenses well.
Jesusa needs this support to maintain her cassava crops so that she can have more income to cover her family's expenses. She will sell her crops within a local trade organization to wholesalers and cassava merchants.
