Inviting and endorsing borrowers

Support entrepreneurs in your community by inviting them to Kiva.

In addition to publicly endorsing borrowers on Kiva, you can also privately invite entrepreneurs you think might be a fit for Kiva’s loans. Here’s a step by step guide showing you how to invite and endorse borrowers.

  1. Create your trustee profile. Register as a trustee. This profile will show publicly on your borrower’s loan profile.  Make sure you give some thought to the questions in the Trustee profile!

  2. Invite borrowers. The easiest way for you to get started is to grab your unique invite link from your Trustee dashboard and send it directly to borrowers in your community who could benefit from the Kiva program.  Check out some of our templates to help spread the word!

  3. Endorse borrowers. When a borrower has started an application you can endorse them from your dashboard.  All we need is their name and email address and you’ll be on your way! Once a borrower is endorsed, they must approve your endorsement.

Every Trustee has their own dashboard where they can manage their impact to date and all borrowers that have been endorsed.  We’ll update you with all the upcoming payments of your borrowers and showcase your impact over time as you endorse more and more entrepreneurs in your community.

To get a better understanding of the step by step process for borrowers, please jump over to our borrower hub.

If you have any questions please reach out to trustees@kiva.org.

Kathinka moved to San Francisco to pursue her BBA degree, with a major in marketing. Being form Norway, she time to time misses the different seasons (especially winters with snow). One of her hobbies consists of finding a part of a city and explore it for a whole day. Checking out cool boutiques, and the best places to eat. Two of her favorite places to visit are Budapest and Vienna. No wonder her dream job would be to travel the world and write about the places she visits.
