Rashmi Khare

Raised in New Jersey, Rashmi earned a BS in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001 and headed right into a career in asset management. She spent over ten years as a bond trader with Fidelity Investments, trading a wide range of products. After reading “Creating a World Without Poverty” by Muhammad Yunus, she decided to pursue a career that melded her financial skills with social impact. To help with this transition, she earned a MBA from the Tuck School of Business in 2014. While at Tuck, she had both US and international experiences with economic development through impact investing, including sea cucumber harvesting in Madagascar. Her most recent travel was a month through southern India, getting blessed by as many temple elephants as she could find. Rashmi is excited to work with Accion East as a Kiva Fellow and looking forward to exploring New York City. Outside of work, Rashmi enjoys baking, cooking, and getting through her Hindi lessons.
