Did you know that women are responsible for two-thirds of the work done worldwide? And yet, they earn only 10% of the total income. Over a century ago, the world celebrated the first International Women’s Day, and while it is a time to recognize, reflect and applaud the achievements of women, it is also a rallying cry.
Join women in your community in celebration and help raise awareness for peace and equality by participating in the Join Me On The Bridge campaign this March 8. The tradition of gathering on bridges was started by our partner Women for Women International in 2010, when women from Rwanda and Congo stood in solidarity on the bridge connecting their two war-torn countries. That inspirational display of peace and hope sparked a global movement, and last year thousands of people in 70 countries stood together on 464 bridges.
