Zonful has failed to meet its payment obligations to Kiva lenders since May 2017 and the entire loan amount of $50,000 is now delinquent.
Over the past year, Kiva has been in regular communication with Zonful, whose staff have explained that delays were due to their bank’s difficulty with transferring USD out of Zimbabwe. However, Zonful has yet to provide confirmation from the bank corroborating this issue. A Kiva staff member plans to visit Zonful next month to investigate the situation further and we will share additional updates with lenders as they become available.
