Maria Elena

Elena lives in the rural community of San Juan Pamba. She is a humble woman of 39 years of age, happily married and the mother of a little son who is her whole world. In her humble little house live her husband, her son, and her younger sister, whom she is supporting, since she needs special care and their parents can no longer take care of her due to their advanced age.

Elena and her husband have been working in agriculture since they were very young. For this reason, they have vast experience in the management and care of organic plantations. Lately, because of the short time for planting, they have solely raised corn and beans on their own land, although they plan to rent more area of land in order to raise more and thus generate greater earnings from the sale of these products.

Elena seeks financial help [a loan] to buy more agricultural supplies to keep the stalks of their plants free of pests, assuring a quality production.

In the future, Elena wants to buy more land to work and to do some remodeling to her house in order to improve her lifestyle.
