Maricela Del Carmen

Maricela Del Carmen's story

Maricela lives with her husband, who is a day laborer, and three daughters aged 27, 25 and 8; the two oldest are married and independent. The person who depends on her is the youngest daughter.

Maricela's business is to offer the nixtamal mill service, which she opened 2 years ago. Her work schedule is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She also works in agriculture with her husband. She learned both trades on her own initiative.

Maricela is requesting a loan to have the economic resources that will allow her to strengthen her business. She will use the borrowed funds to buy belts, discs, grease and other inputs in order to have everything necessary for the proper functioning of the nixtamal mill.

She will also rebuff the place where the business is located; she expects sales to grow. Her aspirations are to have a better quality of family life and to reach economic stability.
