Jane
A loan of $425 helps to buy more liquor and soft drinks to sell.

Jane's story
Jane is 56 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has four children who are all currently in school.
For the past 20 years, Jane has been working hard to manage her bar business, which sells liquor. To help expand her business, Jane has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more liquor and soft drinks to sell, and will help Jane generate greater profits, invest more in her buisness and buy food for her family.
Jane hopes that in the future she will be able to build more rentals for her business. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
