Nifa
A loan of $1,375 helps to purchase weaves, hair lotions, and hair treatments for her salon.

Nifa's story
Nifa is 41 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children who are all currently in school. For the past 8 years, she has been working hard to manage her beauty salon, in which she plaits hair and does hair treatments.
To help expand her business, Nifa has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase weaves, hair lotions, and hair treatments to attract more customers. This will help her to generate greater profits and improve her family's standard of living by providing them with enough food and clothes.
Nifa hopes that in the future she will be able to build rental units for additional income. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
