Maria Angelina's story

Ms. María Angelina and her family live in La Sequita in the Montecristi canton which is known for its rich pre-colonial culture and for its handcrafts that are renowned both domestically and internationally.

She is an industrious woman who looks for ways to earn a living to help her family to get ahead. She is able to do this with the aid of the loans she has received for which she is very grateful and she asks that you keep helping her. She has a bakery in her house where she and one of her sons make and sell sweet and savory breads, tarts and other delicious items. They work everyday starting very early in the morning so that when the customers come to their bakery they can take their bread home. They also sell coffee, sugar, sodas and other basic good to satisfy their distinguished clientele.

She will use this loan to buy flour, salt, lard and sugar to make breads.
