Sagiru

Sagiru's story

Sagiru, 41, married with five children, lives in a rural town in Kaduna, Nigeria. He lives in a small community where maize farming is the major occupation and means of livelihood. Due to a lack of access to quality seeds, it has become difficult for farmers to achieve high yields to make a higher income. Before joining Babban Gona, Sagiru’s main challenge was transportation issues. Sagiru is hereby requesting a loan to buy high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs for his maize farming operations. Sagiru wants to double last year’s yield so that he can attract more customers thereby increasing his revenue. At the end of the season, Sagiru plans to use the profits he earns from his harvest to pay his children's school fees, buy a motorcycle to start his transport business, and buy more nutritious foods.
