Saal Group's story

This eight-member group was created at the same time as the banc villageois in 2007. The members get on very well, and are all involved in small-scale trading and market gardening. Madam Aby, standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 47 years old. She is married and has four children, including two daughters. She grows vegetables and sells peanuts.

She has nearly twenty years' experience. She sells her market garden produce in the large markets surrounding her village. The profits generated by her activity will be used to support her husband in the family's expenses, and also to strengthen her savings.

In this group: Astou Coumba, Louise Ndella, Tabara, Aby, Odette Astou, Marie Cathérine, Maréme, Héléne Siga
