A loan of $1,025 helps to purchase more fashionable clothes to sell.

Mariam's story
Mariam is 42 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has five children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Mariam has been working hard to manage her Boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes, like shirts, dresses etc.
To help expand her business, Mariam has requested a loan of 3,700,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothes to sell and will help Mariam to generate greater profits and manage to provide some basic needs and food for her family.
Mariam hopes that in the future she will be able to become a powerfull business woman and own a big shop in town. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
