Ssilivia
A loan of $550 helps to buy more cows for milking and cans for the milk.

Ssilivia's story
Ssylivia is 42 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has four children, with three of them currently in school.
For the past 22 years, Ssylivia has been working hard to manage her dairy shop, which sells fresh milk. To help expand her business, Ssylivia has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more cows for milking and cans for the milk. This loan will help Ssylivia generate greater profits so that her production will increase and attract more revenue. She will then manage to provide basic needs for her family, like food and clothes.
Ssylivia hopes that in the future she will be able to boost her fish business. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
