Alice
A loan of $825 helps to buy more coffee and beans to sell.

Alice's story
Alice is 40 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has seven children with three of them currently in school. For the past eight years, Alice has been working hard to manage her produce business, which sells coffee and beans.
To help expand her business, Alice has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more coffee and beans to sell, and will help Alice to generate greater profits and her production will increase and attract more revenue. She will manage to provide basic needs for her family like food and clothes for her children.
Alice hopes that in the future she will be able to complete building her house. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
