A loan of $5,250 helps a member to build up her business.

Dibanecounda Group's story
Created in July 2007, this banc villageois is home to this group of women. They all live in the same community and share strong bonds of solidarity. They work in retail businesses. Awa, with her hand raised in the photo, is the group's representative. She is thirty-five years old, married, and the mother of four children. She also has two other children under her care. With her new loan, she plans to buy bags of baobab fruit, bissaps [dried hibiscus flowers], and sugar to make ice cream to resell. She will use the profits to buy goats and take care of her family's needs.
