Oscar

Oscar's story

Oscar is an experienced poultry farmer from Acevedo, Huila, with 32 years of expertise. He owns a half-hectare farm where he has built a shelter to house 500 laying hens, ensuring optimal care and management. His hens produce around 460 eggs daily, which he sells within his community using an old wheelbarrow and baskets. However, this method has become increasingly difficult due to the wear and tear on the wheelbarrow, as well as the need for more efficient transportation to maintain product quality and expand his distribution capacity.

Oscar lives with his father in a house built on a small plot of land on his farm. He has a young daughter who lives with her mother in a nearby community.

A loan of 4,951,541 COP will allow Oscar to purchase a motorcycle that will simplify his mobility, enabling him to distribute his egg production more efficiently. Motorcycles are an essential tool for farmers in Colombia, as they provide a means to transport products and supplies in challenging terrain, optimizing time, costs, and improving access to markets.
