A loan of $825 helps to buy more vegetables to sell.

Gertrude's story
Gertrude is 37 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu, which is in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has five children, two of whom are currently in school. Gertrude works hard to manage her retail shop where she sells vegetables.
To help expand her business, Gertrude requested a loan of 3,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more vegetables. This will help Gertrude generate greater profits and improve her family’s standard of living. In the future, she hopes to expand her business.
Gertrude is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but their businesses have grown and qualify for microloans.
