Saudah's story

Saudah is 50 years old and lives in Njeru in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has seven children, all currently in school.

For the past four years, Saudah has worked hard to manage her retail shop selling motor spare parts.

To help expand her business, Saudah has requested a loan of 5,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. Saudah will use the loan to buy more spare parts for resale. This investment will help her generate greater profits, allowing her to buy food for her family and take good care of herself.

Saudah hopes that she will be able to expand her business in the future.

She is a member of BRAC’s microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
