A loan of $1,975 helps to purchase high-quality acacia seedlings for planting.
Liên's story
Mrs. Liên, a 44-year-old woman, is married and has two children—one who is independent and the other who is still attending school. She and her family reside in the mountainous Cẩm Thủy District, where she works as a farmer with over 25 years of experience. Despite her dedication, her family is considered low-income within the local community.
Mrs. Liên and her husband have been cultivating acacia trees for timber, a practice that not only supports their income but also contributes to environmental conservation. Following the harvest of their previous crop after five years of cultivation, Mrs. Liên is now seeking her sixth loan from Thanh Hóa Microfinance Institution (MFI) to reinvest in forest cultivation. The loan will enable her to purchase high-quality acacia seedlings to begin a new planting cycle.
Looking to the future, Mrs. Liên dreams of a healthy and happy family. She aims to expand her farming operations by investing in tools and equipment to boost productivity. Despite challenges such as the distance of her home from the town center, she is determined to create a better future for her family and improve their overall quality of life.
