Xien is the woman standing on the right in this picture. She is a hardworking ethnic minority woman living in a mountainous province in the Northwest region of Vietnam. She is happy with her 10-member family, but it also burdens her with living expenses.

She stays busy farming and taking care of the buffaloes. Her children are also working as hired laborers to help her with extra income. However, it is still far-fetched from her wishes. Therefore, she decided to ask for help from the Anh Chi Em program and Kiva lenders.

She plans to buy one more buffalo to raise. In addition, she wants to use the profit to expand her business with other farm animals. In the future, she hopes to have a higher income to cover her family’s living expenses. More than that, she will be able to afford her grandchildren's school fees. This support from Kiva lenders means a lot to her.
