Thanh An 126 Group
A loan of $1,850 helps a member to buy piglets and food for pigs.
Thanh An 126 Group's story
Phuong is a married woman. She is an ethnic minority living in the mountains of northern Vietnam. Her family consists of six people including her parents-in-law, her husband and two children who are attending elementary and secondary.
She and her husband are the two main sources of labour for this family. Every day, not only does she work hard in the fields but she also raises pigs to support her family with her husband. According to her, pigs are easier to raise while poultry are more susceptible to disease.
She has been raising pigs for years and that valuable experience always makes her pigs healthy and fat.
With the expectation to buy more piglets and to repopulate them, she wants to use this loan as her capital. As her livestock investment is improved and becomes more profitable, she will be able to give her children a higher education and a brighter future.
She is very grateful for this support from Kiva lenders. She stands on the right side in this photo.
