Malia
A loan of $1,050 helps to buy raw mulberry that she uses for her tapa making business.
Malia's story
Malia is 42 years old. She earns income from making tapa in both soft and whole tapa and then selling them. Malia is married and blessed with five beautiful kids. The kids all attend school, and her husband works as a carpenter. Together, they work hand in hand for the success of this business of making tapa.
Once a week, Malia joined a group of women in their village to make whole tapa in different sizes and styles. The other days of the week, she makes a soft tapa, which is easy for her to make and then sell it to the local people and some woman in her tapa making group. The income from her tapa making and her husband's job paid for the family's need and wants financially and to educate her kids.
According to her, she receives more customers for her tapa making business, but she needs to make more soft tapa and whole tapa. However, she doesn't have enough mulberry. Therefore, she applied for this loan to assist her in buying more mulberry for her tapa making business.
