Claudine is a 43-year-old mother of three children whose ages range from of 19 to 24. Her husband is also a farmer, and for the past 22 years she has been growing Irish potatoes.
Claudine is the leader of the group named Twunganirane Agric Sub Grp B, which in English means "supporting each other." All of the group members are Irish potato growers.
Claudine will use her loan to buy more Irish potato seeds and fertilizer. She will then sell her harvest at the marketplace to meet customer demand in the area. With the profits from her sales she hopes to be able to provide tuition for her children and able feed her family.
